Community Service

Support our local children through Community Service projects.

Welcome Students, School Activity Directors and everyone interested in Community Service!

We invite you to consider Project Linus for your Community Service projects.  We would love to have you participate in making a difference in our community by making blankets for us. There are many simple ways you can make a big impact to local children who are seriously ill, traumatized or otherwise in need.

These fun projects can be done at the volunteer's (also known as "blanketeers") convenience, making them very popular and easy to fit into their already busy schedule.

Make a warm, cozy blanket

Please make sure to remove the selvage (uneven edges) before you start on any project.

Organize a Make A Blanket Day
  • Though most blanketeers choose to work on their own, some organizations have hosted their own “Make A Blanket Day”’ for their group.  It can be a fun, team-building event and a Project Linus volunteer can help you with planning and preparation.

  • Here is a document on how to prepare for your own Make A Blanket Day event.

More

  • Collect empty printer cartridges for recycling credits – see a list of some Donations our chapter

  • Volunteer time to help with a wide variety of activities at any future South Bay / San Jose Project Linus event, such as “Make A Blanket Day” – see the Announcements section of our Home Page

Sign-off

Be sure to have the person earning Community Service hours track their time, then take their completed blanket(s) and time sheet for sign off to one of our representative - please contact and schedule a time for this meeting with either:

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or would be interested in hosting a Make A Blanket Day.
